Help us build a beachside home for learning
Shoreline Scholars is a nonprofit creating a hands-on, nature-based learning community for children ages 5–12 in Indialantic, Florida. Founded by Rachel Glover — a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a research focus on developmental psychology — and Chi Reece, a veteran educator with 20 years of individualized instruction experience, our program integrates academics, outdoor exploration, creative arts, and social-emotional development in a setting unlike any other: the beach.
Our beach program is already running. Children are already learning on the sand. Now we need a permanent home — a beachside house within walking distance of the shoreline where up to 60 children across three programs can learn, build, explore, and grow together.
We can't do it without you.
To purchase a permanent beachside home for Shoreline Scholars
$250,000 gives 60 children a permanent home for learning by the ocean. That's roughly $4,000 per child to build something that lasts.
Every dollar goes directly toward building a learning environment where children thrive.
Security deposit and move-in costs for a beachside house within walking distance of the ocean. A space with room for three concurrent programs, indoor and outdoor learning areas, and a garden where children grow food alongside knowledge.
Child-sized tables, chairs, shelving, reading nooks, cubbies, rugs, and outdoor seating. The space should feel like a home — warm, inviting, and designed for exploration — not a classroom with fluorescent lights.
Science tools, art supplies, building materials, soft-top surfboards, gardening tools, books, curriculum materials, and everything children need to learn with their hands, not just their eyes.
Ensuring that family income never determines whether a child can participate. Every dollar in the scholarship fund goes directly to covering tuition for families who need support.
Compensating qualified educators, covering insurance, and sustaining day-to-day operations so the program can run reliably — not just this month, but for years to come.
Our beach program is running. First students enrolled. Building community, proving the model, and growing our family of learners.
Secure a dedicated beachside house. Furnish and equip it for hands-on learning. Begin full-day enrichment programs Monday through Friday.
Three concurrent programs serving up to 60 children. A scholarship fund supporting families in need. A model for what beachside education can be.

Early supporters of Shoreline Scholars will be recognized as founding members of our community.
Share your expertise with our students — marine science, gardening, art, music, engineering, storytelling. If you have a skill, our kids want to learn it.
Gently used books, art supplies, science equipment, and outdoor gear are always welcome.
Share our mission with a friend, a family, or a local business. Community awareness is how we grow.
Local businesses and organizations interested in sponsorships, events, or educational partnerships — we'd love to collaborate.
A donation to Shoreline Scholars isn't an abstraction — it's a surfboard for Friday mornings, a microscope for tide pool science, a seat at the table for a child whose family couldn't afford it otherwise. It's a home by the beach where learning feels alive.
